Ceftiofur is a 3rd generation cephalosporin antibiotic active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria including ? -lactamase-producing strains.
As a veterinary drug, Ceftiofur has worldwide approvals for respiratory disease (BRD, pneumonia shipping fever) in swine, ruminants (cattle,sheep and goats) and has also been approved for foot rot and metritis infections in cattle and dairy. Ceftiofur has also been approved in various countries for early mortality infections in day-old chicks and turkey poults.
