Oilfield Chemicals UBPro-471 DRA Drag Reducer Agent for Crude Oil Pipelines

UBPro-471 is a Drag Reducing Agent (DRA in short), applied to increase flow rate or to reduce pressure drop in the pipelines delivering crude oil. It is an ultra-high molecular weight polyalphaolefin dispersed in a non-aqueous base / carrier. Drag reduction begins as soon as DRA starts to dissolve in the hydrocarbon being delivered. When dissolved DRA product passes through a boosting pump the polymer is broken down or worn out by the shearing exerted by the boosting pump.  Consequently, a multi-stationed pipeline usually requires repeated DRA injection after each boosting pump station in order to achieve overall flow increase through the whole pipeline length.

UBPro-471 Advanced Drag Reducing Agent for Pipeline Efficiency

UBPro-471 represents a breakthrough in pipeline flow enhancement technology, specifically engineered to optimize the transportation efficiency of crude oil through extensive pipeline networks. This advanced Drag Reducing Agent utilizes ultra-high molecular weight polyalphaolefin chemistry suspended in a specialized non-aqueous carrier system to deliver exceptional performance in reducing hydraulic friction and improving overall pipeline throughput.

The product demonstrates immediate effectiveness upon introduction into the hydrocarbon stream, where it rapidly dissolves and begins interacting with the flow dynamics to minimize turbulence and pressure loss along the pipeline walls. This sophisticated mechanism allows operators to achieve significant flow rate increases or substantial pressure drop reduction, providing flexible operational optimization depending on specific pipeline requirements and operational objectives.

UBPro-471 maintains reliable performance across an extensive ambient temperature range from -20°C to +50°C, ensuring consistent operation in diverse climatic conditions and geographic locations. The technology delivers multiple operational benefits including enhanced transportation capacity, reduced pumping energy requirements, and decreased operational costs through improved hydraulic efficiency. The drag reduction effect also contributes to extended pipeline lifespan by minimizing stress on pipeline infrastructure and reducing erosion-corrosion potential.

A key operational consideration involves the product's response to mechanical shear forces encountered at boosting pump stations, where the polymer molecules undergo temporary degradation. This characteristic necessitates strategic injection points following each pumping station to maintain optimal drag reduction performance throughout multi-station pipeline systems. This planned injection approach ensures continuous flow enhancement across the entire pipeline length while maximizing the economic benefits of reduced transportation costs.

The advanced formulation provides substantial value through reduced energy consumption, lower carbon emissions, and improved operational flexibility. The technology enables pipeline operators to maximize existing infrastructure utilization while deferring capital investments in additional pumping capacity or pipeline construction.
